Under the weather...and MAXED OUT

I have been not feeling well the past few days, so I have been reading and I happened to receive the "Maxed Out" DVD from Netflix on Thursday. I had watched this DVD before, and remember being agitated about it then, but this time, with all the political garbage going on now, it was more disturbing. ALL politicians (both democratic and republican) are bought and sold by the big corporations. No doubt about it. Watching this DVD just confirmed it. This documentary is very depressing. It's back to the big corporations winning, and the average person being forgotten. Not everyone gets into credit card debt by being selfish and stupid. There is a tremendous amount of preditory lending on the elderly and poor, both who could least afford it. And the push for college students to get a credit card??? Disgusting. I have discussed this topic with my older daughters who are both in college and neither one is interested in getting a credit card. Thank God. They will need to establish credit, but there are other ways.

If you haven't seen this, I recommend it. It's definitely an eye opener.

I watched this last weekend and forgot to post my review... I enjoyed the documentary a lot more than the book.... I thought it was great. Wish there were more like it out in the theaters and on tv, to educate the public about debt and CC companies!

I didn't realize there was a book? I'm sure the movie said it all...
