Taxes, Taxes, Taxes

I will be doing our taxes this weekend. I'm worried that we will owe, mainly due to the alternate minimum tax. We've paid quite a bit of taxes already based on our W2s. I'm keeping my figures crossed. Wish me luck!

Love the cartoon!! I'm wondering that myself sometimes :-)

Good luck this weekend!!! It's not a fun exercise, but it is necessary...... You might be pleasantly surprised though!

I've actually started, and it's not looking pretty. I still have to add in the charitable contributions. Right now, before those additions, I owe $2200 to federal and I'll be receiving $950 from the state. Adding the charitable contributions should bring down the federal and bring up the state. Hopefully, I will break even.

Oops sorry for the double post !!

We only send in 1 thing for our taxes, but it is divided within the return... Weird how you pay to one and get back from the other!!

Do you count only cash for your contributions or do you count stuff too? That's another thing we can't do here, it has to be cash to count.

Ah, that's too bad, because my donations of clothing and household items really add up. I use "Its Deductible" online to get the true market value that can be deducted. Usually for the year it comes to about $5,000. Yes, I know, that's a lot of stuff (read CRAP). I'm not sure I'll have that much this year. But here's hoping...
