I'm not so sure. I've lately been focusing on my health...i.e. losing some weight. By focusing on that, I've somehow slipped on the finance end. I've been grocery shopping without a list, (buying healthful purchases, but not meals...) purchasing little things here and there, and (gasp!) using my AMEX blue for purchases because I have gotten sucked into the "you get cash back for using the card" theory.
I need to get back to the "magic jars". Use CASH only. I have enough in savings to cover the AMEX bill, but I'm still very uneasy (and rightfully so!) about having a balance NOW on it. I can also cover it with the 15th paychecks, which I am waiting for because I don't want to use the savings. However, I've seen this pattern before. Credit card use, for me, is very dangerous. Period.
So, can I both lose weight and lose debt? I hope so. Otherwise I'll be fat and wealthy or thin and broke. Good grief.

Sharon, if I can locate my book called Rich and Thin, I'll send it to you... it should help with both!
Sharon!! Cut up the AMEX card!!
Good luck with focusing on two things.
And yes, I do think it is possible. Especially for woman!! :)
You can lose weight & debt at the same time ...
Because your a terrific person and can do anything you set your mind to!
Hang in there Sharon!!!
you can do it - i think the key (in theory) is to find the things that the two have in common... like planning meals means less snacking and also smarter spending... easier to count calories too!
walking/biking means more exercise and less money spent on gas or the bus/train....
etc.
good luck!
I'm with you on the card. It's a very slippery slope for me, too. I slid down a little this month and will pay it off on the 15th. It's scary that it is so easy to use the credit cards again.
