My jars are ready to be filled on the 15th of July. My family made fun of me and rolled their eyes as they saw me prepare them. Well, so be it. I was always a "visual" person. Always needed to read along when someone spoke.. So, now that I see my jars, and as soon as I see the cash in each, I hope this will help me to not overspend. This will be a bit tricky as we will be taking vacation on August 9th. I will just bring "spending" money (from the entertainment jar!). And when it is gone....it's gone. Here goes.....

I LOVE THEM!
This is such a great idea to put the info on the jars with proper names and amounts. You took Gail's method a step further :D
Judge it over 90 days...no one is perfect. The important part is the progress. This has been the #1 way we have been saving money! (Although we use envelopes, because they don't break!)
Good for you!
Great idea! Keep us updated on how it goes. My main problem would be remembering to put the receipt into the jar...
Thanks everybody for the encouragement! I'm very anxious to get started! I know that I will save money if I follow this method! I'll keep you posted!
I love the jars :-) Can't wait to read your updates...
I must say, that is kind of funny... I'm glad you got the family involved, that's what counts.

That's a great idea! We have both savings jars, and budget envelopes for our cash spending. You've sort of merged those ideas with the "magic jars." Love it!
