Birthday update! Good Grief!

Okay, so I went out and got a dozen Dunkin Donuts for a morning treat (Today is Cassie's birthday). Since when did a dozen donuts cost $8.00??? As we were eating the donuts with Starbucks that I brewed at home (:)), Cassie was wearing a pair of jeans that were much too small for her....which prompted me to say, "Go change your pants, they are too small". To which she replied, "I don't have any, the two pairs that fit are in the wash..." Good grief. I told her to get in the car, we were going to get her some pants......Well, $250.00 later, she now has four new pairs of jeans, three sweaters and a nice pair of black pants. Oh yeah, she saw a beautiful winter coat. Reg. 160.00, our cost $42.00. I had been meaning to get her some new clothes, but I hadn't gotten around to it because I needed her with me to try them on. This was the perfect opportunity. She loves time alone with me, so this was good. She now has some new clothes to take her through to the Spring.....

After shopping, I was starving so I took Cassie and my other two daughters met us at Chipotle....$29.00. (Horribly expensive for a McDonalds company). Everyone was happy, and Cassie was gleaming...

So, add it up? $287.00 One could argue that I would have had to buy her clothes anyway....

Oh yeah, my husband went out and got snacks for tonight....$52.00. Perhaps Chuck E. Cheeses would have been cheaper???

Oh well, at least I have a very happy 12 year old. (And beans and rice for dinner for the next 12 nights!)

I bet there were some super "after the holidays" deals though! And the time spent with your DD is priceless!

I'm curious what your DH got for snacks.. $52 worth? Musta been some good eats though!

Ah, well, when my husband goes shopping, he doesn't quite know the price points. He did not buy the two half gallons of ice cream on sale, he bought the expensive brand for $4.00 a piece. He bought 6 bottles of 2ltr soda for 1.50 each (I would have gotten the .69 bottles), and he purchased the most expensive whipped cream on the shelf...$4.99a bottle and got two of them! Plus some chips and dip....$52.00.

Cassie wanted "make your own Sundaes" instead of cake, so he got a couple of other toppings. I could have done it for about $20.00, but ....oh well. And yes, we got GREAT sales and the time spent with Cassie was priceless! Thanks for your comment!

I think the "make your own sundaes" is a great idea!!! Such a nice treat after the usual birthday cake that is served at every single friend's or family member's birthdays... bet the girls really enjoyed it :-)

And your DH too ;-)
