Birthdays can blow a budget...

I had mentioned earlier that it is my daughter's birthday, and I sent in cupcakes to school. I had all of the ingredients, so it cost me nothing. Her sister was bringing in a sub for her for lunch. I gave her $5.00 towards it. She is having a sleepover with friends at the house tomorrow evening. Didn't put together goodie bags, but had a great idea for a game and goodie bag....$62.00 later.....My only saving grace to that is that she's not having a "bowling party" or a party that costs a lot of money...only the price of snacks and breakfast in the morning, so I completely justified getting Webkins (the baby ones) as an exchange game and a take home "goody" for her five friends who are coming over. Hmmmm. Guess I could have gotten some lollipops and called it a day....I guess I have a long way to go in the frugal department. I'm sure $62.00 would have gone a long way on a cc. I will definitely be more careful.
