I started this blog in January 2008 and it has gone through a metamorphosis (so to speak) and has continued to change and evolve. I started with $72,000 worth of non-mortgage debt, and thanks to a some good luck, and the support of my blogging friends, my husband and I have been able to pay nearly $36,000 of that debt. What is left is about $36000 of a home equity loan.
Blogging has had many benefits. Besides the feeling of accountability, one of the benefits which have meant so much to me is that I met so many wonderful people. I enjoyed being able to "talk" to people not only in the U.S. but all over the world! One blogging friend I met through Nate's blog is Francois. He is from South Africa, and has set up a very cool challenge. It is the Liberta Financial Freedom Challenge. To get started you must:
